Former CEO convicted of indecent assault
The court found that the accused unlawfully hugged the complainant, sniffed her and rubbed his lips on her neck.

A former chief executive officer (CEO) has been convicted on two counts of indecent assault for sexually assaulting a female employee on two separate occasions in 2019.
Justice Waleen George delivered the verdict in the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday, finding that the prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt.
The first charge related to an incident on June 25, 2019, when the court found that the accused unlawfully hugged the complainant, sniffed her and rubbed his lips on her neck.

The second charge stemmed from an incident on September 13, 2019, when the court found that the accused sniffed the complainant's hair, kissed her forehead, touched her ear and repeatedly ran his hand across her chest without her consent.
The complainant, whose identity remains suppressed, told the court that the accused was the group chief executive officer of the company where she worked.
She testified that both incidents occurred after she was called into his office and said she was left frightened and shocked by his actions.
The offender was remanded in custody and will reappear in court on August 12 for sentencing.
