Former Acting Commissioner of the Fiji Corrections Service Sevuloni Naucikidi appeared in court today seeking additional time to finalise his legal representation in a criminal intimidation case.
Naucikidi appeared before Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne, where the court was told an application had been filed for lawyer Tanya Waqanika to represent him.

The court also heard that pre-trial matters remain outstanding and must be resolved before the case can proceed.
Magistrate Somaratne granted a one-month adjournment to allow the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to finalise and file the pre-trial conference minutes.
The adjournment will also allow time for issues relating to Naucikidi’s legal representation to be resolved.
No plea was taken during the mention as the court awaits completion of pre-trial requirements.
The matter has been adjourned to February 23 for further mention.
