Former Hibiscus Contestant Charged With Absconding Bail
Last Friday Maharaj-Moore was supposed to provide her sick leave to the court, however, she failed to appear.

Former Hibiscus Festival contestant Zoe Maharaj-Moore has been charged with one count of absconding bail.
She appeared before Magistrate Jioji Boseiwaqa yesterday, after she allegedly failed to appear in court on January 10.
Last Friday Maharaj-Moore was supposed to provide her sick leave to the court, however, she failed to appear.

Maharaj-Moore is facing three counts of being found in possession of illicit drugs charges.
It is alleged that Maharaj-Moore with another person on July 14, 2019, at Raiwaqa, without lawful authority were in possession of 7.89 grams of methamphetamine, 12.49 grams of cocaine, and 2.5 grams of cannabis sativa, all illicit drugs.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Ravi Narayan did not object to Maharaj-Moore’s bail.
Magistrate Boseiwaqa ordered Maharaj- Moore to not commit any other offence.
He also said to the sureties that if Maharaj- Moore did not appear in the future again, the sureties will be liable to advise the court on the reasons.
Maharaj-Moore was granted bail on two sureties bail bond of $300 each.
The matter was transferred to the Chief Magistrate’s court to consolidate the matter with the existing matters.
The matter has been adjourned for mention to January 30.
