Former Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica will stand trial in July, with the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption expected to call four witnesses in the case.
Kamikamica appeared before Magistrate Charles Ratakele at the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday, where he faces one count of perjury and an alternative charge of giving false information to a public servant.
The charges relate to statements he allegedly made under oath during the Commission of Inquiry into the appointment of former FICAC commissioner Barbara Malimali.

It is alleged Kamikamica told the inquiry he had no involvement in Malimali’s appointment.
However, the Commission of Inquiry report raised concerns that he may have influenced the appointment process and attempted to interfere in another FICAC case.
Kamikamica has denied all allegations.
The matter has been adjourned for a pre-trial conference on June 22, while the trial is scheduled from July 20 to 23.
