Group Drinking Methylated Spirit Plead Guilty

A group of six individuals who were found drinking methylated spirit at the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) grounds on April 11 were produced in the Suva Magistrates Court on Monday.
Samisoni Niumaoma, 56, Mesake Ratabua, 49, Sailasa Martin, 33, Varasiko Lalaqila, 49, Talei Marama, 30, and Vaseva Vatunitasoso, 25, pleaded guilty to a charge of violating social gathering orders.
The court was informed that Niumaoma, Ratabua, Lalaqila and Marama had previous convictions.
Related stories
They were fined $200 with a default imprisonment term of 20 days.
Their case has been adjourned to May 13 for review.
