High Court closes case against Charlie Charters

Citizen journalist Charlie Charters is now a free man after the High Court in Suva granted his application for a permanent stay, bringing the case against him to an end.
Justice Pita Bulamainaivalu granted the application this morning.
Charters was accused of publishing official Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) information on his Facebook page without the Commissioner’s written permission between November 2 and December 14, 2025.
Related stories
The prosecution alleged the information had been unlawfully disclosed by a FICAC officer and that Charters aided and abetted its publication by posting it on his Facebook page.
The matter has now been closed.
