Judgment deferred again in Sayed-Khaiyum, Saneem case
The judgment will now be delivered on June 26.

The judgment in the case involving former Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and former Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem has been deferred again.
The matter was initially scheduled for judgment on March 30 before being moved to May 14.
Chief Justice Salesi Temo said he was still preparing his written judgment.

“I am putting pen to paper and preparing my written judgment,” Chief Justice Temo said.
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum faces one count of abuse of office. The State alleges that while acting as Prime Minister, he approved a Deed of Variation authorising the Government to pay about $55,944 in back taxes owed by Mr Saneem.
Mr Saneem is charged with receiving a corrupt benefit. Prosecutors allege he sought and obtained the tax relief without lawful authority.
The judgment will now be delivered on June 26.
