Lateef Asks Lawyer To Withdraw Bail
Lateef had instructed his counsel Filimoni Vosarogo to withdraw his application to review the decision of the Magistrate Court not to grant him bail last month.

Former Suva lawyer Shazran Abdul Lateef has told the court that he wishes to withdraw the application for bail review in the High Court.
Lateef, 58, appeared before Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili at the Magistrates Court in Suva yesterday.
Lateef had instructed his counsel Filimoni Vosarogo to withdraw his application to review the decision of the Magistrate Court not to grant him bail last month.

Magistrate Ratuvili has given prosecution until Thursday to respond as it was not aware of Lateef’s intentions.
The court has also granted Lateef’s application to be examined by doctors at the CWM Hospital.
Prosecution did not object to the matter.
Lateef is facing one count each of unlawful possession of illicit drugs and breach of bail conditions. It is alleged that Lateef on August 14, this year, in Raiwaqa, Suva, was found in possession of 0.0063 grams of white crystal substances known as methamphetamine, an illicit drug.
He is also alleged to have breached his bail conditions.
The matter was adjourned to September 27 for bail hearings.
