Latianara In Court For Speaker’s House Burglary Charges

The alleged offence took place on November 5 at the Ratu Epeli Nailatikau’s residence at Lomanikoro on Bau Island.

Ratu Jone Latianara appeared before Magistrate Lasitha Chaminda yesterday, charged with one count of aggravated burglary and theft.

The alleged offence took place on November 5 at the Ratu Epeli Nailatikau’s residence at Lomanikoro on Bau Island.

Latianara is alleged to have entered the house of the Speaker and stole six mats valued at $2100, Tongan mat valued at $800, Fortanga (masi) valued at $800, three Gatu (masi) valued at $600, two by four mats (vivivi) valued at $1400, eight single mats valued at $800, two by two burner gas stove valued at $500, cooking utensils valued at $150, all to the total value of $6750.

The case will be called on November 25.
