Lawyer Jitendra Reddy has dismissed allegations that he attempted to rape a staff member at the Jiten Reddy Law Firm in Nakasi last Sunday evening.

The allegations surfaced on a public social media forum, claiming that Reddy tried to bribe a female staff member with money for sex and forcefully attempted to kiss her.

It was further alleged that he fled the scene after a security officer rushed into the office upon hearing her screams.

While the post also referenced similar allegations in the past, Reddy described these claims as “vexatious, frivolous, and malicious acts” aimed at discrediting his move to contest the next General Elections.

Reddy said that the allegation was false and that somebody was trying to tarnish his image because he had shown an interest in joining politics.

“I’m a man of ethics and I know my boundaries and my staff. You can ask all my former staff, you can ask my current staff. No one will ever utter a word against me.”

Reddy said his wife could vouch for him, as they had just returned from the West on Sunday evening and reached home around 8pm.

He stated that nothing of the sort had ever happened and explained that his wife worked with him, accompanied him to the office, and returned home with him.

He questioned where he would find the time to engage in inappropriate behaviour with other staff and emphasised that he had great respect for his lawyers and staff, treating them with the utmost respect.

This masthead can confirm that a police report was filed at the Nakasi Police Station. However, Reddy said he has not been summoned for questioning.

“This is news for me. We're trying to locate the author and eventually we'll report to cybercrime because it has never happened in my office,” he said.

Attempts to reach the complainant in this matter were futile.
