Magistrate Will Deliver No Case To Answer Ruling In Khan’s Case

The Magistrates Court in Suva will deliver its ruling today on the no case to answer application filed by the lawyer of former Director Internal Affairs, Acting SSP Mohammed Talib Khan.

Khan, who was the Commanding officer at Totogo Police Station in 2017, is charged by the Director of Public Prosecutions with one count of abuse of office.

It is alleged that on April 13, 2017 at Suva, Khan as the Acting Superintendent of Police, directed the unlawful arrest and detention of a person, which was an abuse of the authority of his office and which was an arbitrary act.

Khan is represented by lawyer John Rabuku while Saif Shah appeared from the DPP’s Office as prosecutor.

Bail for Khan was extended.
