Man Accused Of Assault On Sister-In-Law Further Remanded

It is alleged that on December 23, 2019, at Navua, Buksh unlawfully assaulted his 46-year-old sister-in-law.

A 64-year-old man who is alleged to have assaulted his brother’s wife has been remanded in custody by the Magistrates Court in Suva.

Alim Buksh appeared on Thursday before Magistrate Joseph Daurewa. Buksh is charged with one count of common assault.

It is alleged that on December 23, 2019, at Navua, Buksh unlawfully assaulted his 46-year-old sister-in-law.

Magistrate Daurewa told the accused that the matter was to be called at the Magistrates Court in Navua, however, the Court was not sitting on Thursday.

He then adjourned the matter to be called before the resident magistrate in Navua.

The matter will be called for mention on January 15. A production order for Buksh has been further extended for his appearance in the Magistrates Court in Navua.
