A man arrested at the Government Buildings in Suva last month after allegedly displaying suspicious behaviour has been remanded in custody.

Justin Whippy, who is charged with one count of trespassing, appeared before Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne yesterday.

It is alleged that Whippy entered the premises through the main entrance and was stopped by officers stationed on the ground floor after his behaviour raised concerns. He was subsequently escorted out of the building and referred to the relevant authorities.

The case has been adjourned to April 16, when Whippy is expected to appear before the Chief Magistrate for a psychiatric assessment order.
