Man Remanded For Alleged Rape Of Girlfriend

A 39-year-old Suva man, who is alleged to have raped his girlfriend, has been remanded in custody by the High Court.
The accused appeared before Justice Vinsent Perera yesterday for the first call of the case at the High Court.
He is charged with one count of rape.

The accused and the complainant were related and were dating at the time of the alleged incident. The alleged incidents occurred on August 8 this year at Raiwaqa.
Prosecutor from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Eoghn Samisoni, sought time to file information and disclosures in the matter.
The matter has been adjourned for mention on September 29.
