Nadawa Fire: Man Who Allegedly Tried To Kill His Children Has History Of Drug Abuse, Report Reveals

It was revealed in the High Court yesterday that the man who allegedly tried to murder his two children by setting fire to his house in Nadawa has a history of substance abuse.
Pranil Alvin Singh, 38, appeared before Judge Justice Daniel Goundar represented by a private lawyer.
He is charged with one count of arson and two counts of attempted murder. The alleged incident happened at the beginning of last month.

State lawyer filed and served disclosures in court and sought 14 days to file information.
In an earlier appearance, the defence lawyer had told the court that the accused had tried to take his life twice.
The accused was further remanded in custody and his case has been adjourned to July 27 for plea.
