Nasilasila’s Leave To Appeal Hearing Set For June 30

Nasilasila is serving a sentence of eight years imprisonment with a non-parole period of six years.

The Fiji Court of Appeal has set leave to appeal conviction and sentence in the case of former Fijian 7s rugby player, Amenoni Nasilasila, on June 30.

Nasilasila appeared before Justice Chandana Prematilaka yesterday.

The 29-year-old was convicted of raping a 24-year-old woman at Olosara, Sigatoka, on December 22, 2018.

Nasilasila is serving a sentence of eight years imprisonment with a non-parole period of six years.

He is appealing against his conviction and sentence while there is a bail pending appeal application.
