Nasinu Pastor’s Rape Trial Case To Begin On October 5

He is facing four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

The High Court in Suva has set trial for Nasinu Pastor, Waisake Tulavu, from October 5 to October 9.

Tulavu appeared before Judge Justice Daniel Goundar yesterday.

He is represented by lawyer, Lice Manulevu from the Legal Aid Commission. He is facing four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

On the first count of rape, on May 11, 2018, in Nasinu, Tulavu allegedly raped a 22-year-old woman.

On the second count of rape, it is alleged that on the same day, Tulavu again performed a sexual act on the 22-year-old complainant.

On the third count of rape, on the same day, Tulavu allegedly performed a sexual act on the 22-year- old complainant – for the third time.

In the fourth count of rape, it is alleged that Tulavu on June 16, 2018, in Nasinu, Tulavu allegedly raped a 29-year-old woman.

For the charge of sexual assault, it is alleged that Tulavu on September 15, 2018, in Nasinu, unlawfully and indecently assaulted a 32-year-old woman.

Tulavu has been further remanded in custody.

The matter will be called for a pre-trial conference on September 25.
