Police Investigate Alleged Break-In On Fishing Vessel

Chinese cigarettes and money belonging to a crew member were allegedly stolen.

A fishing vessel named, Shui Yuan Yu 600, docked in Lami, was allegedly broken into last week on Tuesday, April 13.

Chinese cigarettes and money belonging to a crew member were allegedly stolen.

Police spokesperson Savaira Tabua confirmed that the shipping agents had filed a report.

The Fiji Sun has obtained pictures of the ship’s broken door and a broken cabinet where the cigarettes and the money were kept.

It is believed that the vessel was taken to a jetty in Lami by authorities.

Meanwhile, it has also been established that a senior crew member of the vessel was sent out of Fiji on another ship.

Police investigations continue.
