Police officer’s alleged murder case sent to High Court

The Suva Magistrate Court has transferred the case of two men from Qauia in Lami, charged with the alleged murder of Police Constable Peniasi Racagi, to the High Court in Suva.

Keni Salawai, 42, and Jope Seniloli, 20, appeared before Senior Magistrate Sufia Hamza this afternoon.

The matter was transferred under Section 191 of the Criminal Procedure Act, as the charge of murder is an indictable offence.

The two accused are scheduled to make their first appearance in the High Court in Suva on March 13.
