Rabuka urges calm as Fiji awaits Supreme Court advisory opinion

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has condemned recent calls for civil disobedience and military intervention, saying such actions are “unacceptable” and risk undermining peace and democracy.

“The Supreme Court is entrusted with interpreting our laws. Its opinion must be respected. While freedom of speech is protected, it must be exercised responsibly and within the law,” Mr Rabuka said.

He urged Fijians to remain calm as the nation awaits the Advisory Opinion of the Supreme Court on the Constitution.

The Prime Minister assured the public that his Government remains fully committed to upholding the rule of law and safeguarding national stability.
