TikToker Paula Caginicolo will enter his plea on September 15 after appearing before Justice Aruna Aluthge at the High Court in Lautoka on a manslaughter charge.

Caginicolo is jointly charged in relation to the alleged death of Vilikesa Naicaba at Wairabetia, Lautoka, on May 14.

He was initially charged with murder, but the charge was later reduced to manslaughter.

The cases against the other three accused - Meli Bavesi, 22, Suliasi Naikaimuri, 42, and Josivini Naisaucou, 20, have been dropped.

The court heard allegations that the four men seriously assaulted Naicaba during a drinking party. It is alleged that an argument broke out between the accused and Naicaba before he was struck with a piece of timber, causing him to lose consciousness.

Caginicolo was represented by lawyer Prishika Naidu, while the state was represented by Michelle Lomaloma.

The defence was served with disclosure material on Thursday and sought a 10-day extension. Caginicolo’s plea has been scheduled for September 15.

The state is awaiting toxicology results, which are required to complete the forensic report before it is forwarded to the defence.
