Trial Date Set For Nasinu Pastor’s Rape Case

The trial for Nasinu Pastor Waisake Tulavu has been set to commence from October 5 for one week. Tulavu appeared before Judge Justice Daniel Goundar yesterday. He is facing four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

The trial for Nasinu Pastor Waisake Tulavu has been set to commence from October 5 for one week. Tulavu appeared before Judge Justice Daniel Goundar yesterday. He is facing four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

On the first count of rape, on May 11, 2018, in Nasinu, Tulavu allegedly raped a 22-year-old woman.

On the second count of rape, it is alleged that on the same day, Tulavu again performed a sexual act on the 22-year-old complainant without her consent.

On the third count of rape, on the same day, Tulavu allegedly performed a sexual act on the 22-year- old complainant without her consent – for the third time.

In the fourth count of rape, it is alleged that Tulavu on June 16, 2018, in Nasinu, Tulavu allegedly raped a 29-year-old woman.

For the charge of sexual assault, it is alleged that Tulavu on September 15, 2018, in Nasinu, unlawfully and indecently assaulted a 32-year-old woman.

Tulavu has been further remanded in custody.
