Tyre Shop Owner Claims Fourth Break-In
The 63-year-old said when he arrived yesterday morning he was shocked to see the door glass shattered.

Nadi’s tyre shop owner, Awad Ram, is a frustrated man.
He claims his Jet Set Tyre Shop near the Nadi Hindu Temple, has been broken into four times.
The latest was on Saturday.

The 63-year-old said when he arrived yesterday morning he was shocked to see the door glass shattered.
“About $20 in coins were left in a plastic coin bag which was stolen,” he said.
“The first break-in was around October last year when some of our tyres and a laptop were stolen.
“It is very hard for us to survive because of these distressful things happening. This business was our main source of income.
“During the pandemic we have been really struggling with the business.”
Mr Ram also claimed that over the past three weeks, there were several attempts of break-in at other shops in the area.
‘I just wish the curfew hours would be lifted so that we could make rounds to our shops at midnight and also during the early hours,” he said.
He estimated $800 worth of damage in Saturday’s incident.
Police spokesperson Savaira Tabua said investigation was underway.
