Ali pleaded guilty to the offence and informed Chief Magistrate Ratuvili that he could not pay a fine.
He said he was unemployed and was unable to find employment because of the coronavirus pandemic.
He also pleaded with the court to give him another chance at rehabilitation.
With the accused’s consent, Chief Magistrate Ratuvili sentenced him to complete 30 hours of community work under the supervision of the Police prosecution in Suva.
