14-year-old charged with raping 11-year-old cousin
The ODPP report on sexual offences for the month of July reveals that six of the 13 victims were under the age of 18.

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of rape for allegedly assaulting his 11-year-old cousin, according to the July 2025 rape and sexual offences statistics released by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
He is one of two juveniles among the 13 accused persons charged last month with a total of 21 counts of serious sexual offences, including rape, sexual assault, indecent assault, and acts with intent to commit rape.
The report reveals that six of the 13 victims were under the age of 18. Twelve were female, and one was male.

Among the most disturbing incidents were:
- A 13-year-old boy charged with raping a 5-year-old girl from his village.
- A 67-year-old man charged with raping and sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.
- A 54-year-old man charged with raping his 21-year-old daughter-in-law.
- A 35-year-old man charged with rape and assault causing actual bodily harm to his 26-year-old de facto partner.
The ODPP recorded six cases involving victims and offenders who were related, highlighting the prevalence of sexual violence within domestic settings.
In total, there were:
- 15 counts of rape
- 4 counts of sexual assault
- 1 count of indecent assault
- 1 count of act with intent to commit rape
One case was withdrawn due to insufficient evidence.
The ODPP stated that several victims, particularly minors and those in domestic relationships, were also subjected to multiple forms of sexual violence.
