Body of missing teen found in Tamavua-i-Wai

Police are investigating the death of a 15-year-old student whose body was discovered near a lemon tree in Tamavua-i-Wai, just outside Suva this afternoon.

The victim, missing since Christmas Eve, was identified by his parents from clothing found at the scene.

According to police, the teenager had left home on December 24 with friends to visit Suva but never returned.

His family had been searching the settlement and with relatives before lodging a missing person report at the Samabula Police Station earlier today.

A 30-year-old man discovered the body and immediately alerted authorities.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of death.

Police confirmed that inquiries are ongoing.
