Bank officer appears in court for assault charge

A 27-year-old bank officer of Waqadra, Nadi, appeared in the Nadi Magistrates Court today on an alleged assault charge.
John Norman Macdonald appeared before Magistrate Talei Kean. He is charged with one count of assault causing actual bodily harm.
He is represented by Eileen Brown Damunalagi and Richard Prakash of Brown and Prakash Lawyers.

The court heard that on March 28, he allegedly assaulted his former partner in an incident that was captured on video and widely circulated on social media.
Magistrate Kean denied bail and adjourned the matter to April 7 for a bail hearing.
