The Ministry of Education has reiterated its firm stance against corporal punishment in schools, stressing the need for lawful disciplinary measures that prioritise student welfare.
Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, said the ministry recognises the challenges of student indiscipline and the pressure placed on teachers, but corporal punishment will not be tolerated.
“To address behavioural issues, the Ministry encourages schools to follow existing disciplinary policies,” Mr Radrodro said.

“Counselling centres have been established in various districts, and school heads are urged to refer unruly students to these centres for guidance and rehabilitation.”
