Labasa teen tops Vanua Levu year 12 exams

Labasa College Year 12 student Shanvi Sharma of Tuatua, Labasa, has emerged as the top student in Vanua Levu following the release of the recent external examination results.
Shanvi scored a total of 385 marks out of 400, achieving English (92), Mathematics (90), Computer Studies (98), Accounting (98) and Economics (97).
“This achievement did not come easily. It is the result of years of consistency, late nights of study, self-discipline and perseverance, even under pressure,” she said.

Shanvi attributed her success to hard work and strong support from those around her.
“I am deeply thankful to my teachers for their guidance, my family for their constant support, and everyone who believed in me throughout my academic journey,” she said.
She also acknowledged the support of her subject teachers, school staff and the administrative team at Labasa College.
“I am honoured to have achieved these results and to rank highest in Vanua Levu,” she said.
Her parents, Lekutu Secondary School principal Suresh Sharma and Labasa Sangam College teacher Sangeeta Sharma, said they were proud of her achievement.
“I am immensely proud of my daughter. Her outstanding results reflect consistent hard work, discipline and the strong support of her teachers and school leadership,” Mr Sharma said.
Shanvi’s achievement has been widely praised within the Labasa community, with many describing her success as an inspiration to students across Vanua Levu.
