Leading by example, Korovuto Primary prefects take their oath

Newly inducted head prefects commit to setting examples for their peers.

Leadership is about setting the right example and inspiring others to do their best.

Those were the words of Korovuto Primary School head boy Ravishal Kumar after the prefects’ investiture earlier this week.

The Yako, Nadroga resident said the badge was a great honour and a proud moment for him and his family.

“It is not just about wearing a badge, but about carrying the responsibility to lead with discipline, respect, and integrity,” he said.

As head boy, he aims to promote unity, positive behaviour, and excellence in academics, as well as holistic development.

This includes encouraging students to actively participate in sports, spiritual growth, scouting, leadership programmes, and other co‑curricular activities that which help shape them into well‑rounded individuals.

“I strongly believe that true leadership means leading by example at all times,” he said.

Head girl Vasemaca Ratu said being head girl means being a role model, a leader, and a voice for her fellow students.

“It is not just a badge title — it is a responsibility. To me, it means setting a good example through my behaviour, my attitude, and my commitment to my school,” she said.

“It means representing Korovuto Primary School with pride. It is my privilege and honour to serve the school community and contribute to its continued success,” the Nawaqadamu Village, Nadi native said.
