It was a proud and emotional moment in Nabalebale village as a mother and her son walked the same graduation stage together — marking a new chapter for their family.
Makarita Talabiu, 45, and her son, Peni Dovi Rauluni, 18, graduated side by side from Fiji National University’s Rural Remote Maritime Training on Friday.
For Ms Talabiu, the achievement was more than a certificate — it was a turning point.
