Cabinet has approved the reintroduction of scaling of marks across all national examination levels, beginning in the 2026 academic year.

The Ministry of Education said the move aligns with international best practices and supports national education priorities to ensure a fair and consistent assessment system for all students.

It added that the scaling process will also encourage students to take on more challenging subjects, particularly in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), computer studies, and commerce—key areas for developing a skilled and competitive workforce for Fiji.
