The Tertiary Scholarships and Loans Service (TSLS) is urging students to register and submit their scholarship applications before the January 31 deadline.
TSLS has warned that late or incomplete submissions may reduce applicants’ chances of securing an award.
Applications for the 2026 academic year are currently open, with processing having commenced on January 5.

In a media statement, TSLS encouraged applicants not to wait until the final days to apply and to submit their applications as soon as they receive their final offer letters from higher education institutions.
TSLS clarified that provisional offer letters will not be accepted for assessment, and that only complete applications accompanied by confirmed offers will be processed.
Scholarship awards are allocated based on academic ranking, from the highest‑performing applicants downwards, until the quota for each scholarship scheme is filled. TSLS noted that this applies to all schemes, except in cases where selection includes interviews or aptitude tests.
Applicants who are not selected within the quota of their preferred scheme may still be considered for alternative scholarship options, depending on availability and eligibility.
Students are required to apply through the official TSLS online portal at apply.tsls.com.fj
The service has also reminded applicants to ensure that all required information and supporting documents are submitted correctly to avoid delays in processing.
For students who may require assistance, TSLS offices remain open to provide guidance and support. Offices are located in Suva, Lautoka, Nadi, and Labasa, with staff available to assist applicants throughout the application process.
TSLS stressed that timely submission is critical, as early and complete applications have the best chance of being considered before quotas are reached.
The advisory was authorised by TSLS chief executive officer, Apisalome Movono, who reiterated the importance of early preparation and compliance with application requirements to ensure a smooth assessment process for the 2026 academic year.
