After nearly a decade of sacrifice and resilience, Anaseini Sovea has achieved what once felt out of reach.
The 26-year-old from Nasinu Village, Ovalau graduated from the University of the South Pacific on Thursday with a Bachelor of Commerce in Tourism and Hospitality Management.
For Ms Sovea, the moment was more than a qualification — it was the end of a long and difficult journey shaped by motherhood and financial hardship.
She described the day as “big” and long overdue.
The mother of three says her studies were interrupted three times due to pregnancy, forcing her to step away from campus for years to care for her children before returning to continue.
“Being a stay-at-home mum and studying at the same time was challenging, but I managed to pull through,” she said.
There were moments she nearly gave up, but her children kept her focused.
“What motivates me is my children’s future,” Ms Sovea said.
Her achievement carries added significance as the first in her family to graduate.
“This means a lot,” she said.
Balancing the demands of raising three children while pursuing her studies, Ms Sovea’s journey reflects persistence through hardship and quiet determination.
Now a graduate, she hopes her story will inspire others facing similar struggles.
“Don’t give up. Keep on moving. Always put your faith and trust in God and keep praying,” she said.
