100,000 Doses Of Covishield Vaccines To Arrive Monday

Acting Permanent Secretary Foreign Affairs Yogesh Karan said 100,000 doses of the vaccines will arrive in the first batch on Monday, while another 90,000 doses will arrive at a later date.

The Government of India’s bilateral support to Fiji through COVID-19 vaccines will arrive into the country on Monday.

It is understood that it is the Covishield vaccine Like AstraZeneca, it is manufactured at India’s Serum Institute and approved by World Health Organisation (WHO).

Acting Permanent Secretary Foreign Affairs Yogesh Karan said 100,000 doses of the vaccines will arrive in the first batch on Monday, while another 90,000 doses will arrive at a later date.

Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete yesterday confirmed discussions with the Indian High Commission officers, but could not release any further details on the arrival of the vaccines.
