Eleven ministers of the Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma have tendered their resignations to the church leadership after choosing not to be vaccinated.
This was confirmed by the church’s president Reverend Ili Vunisuwai yesterday.
Without revealing much information about the ministers, Reverend Vunisuwai said as of yesterday, they had received a total of 11 resignations from its current serving ministers from around the country.

“They have made a decision not to be vaccinated and that will mean that they won’t be able to perform any of their pastoral du- ties inside the church,” he said.
“From this month we will be working out their replacements, and we would be sending them out to the respective churches and divisions that will need them.”
He said it was their decision not to get vaccinated and the church accepted their resignation on good terms because it was also their choice to do so.
He added that the church would continue to serve in all its 59 divi- sions, and the resignations would not affect the running of the church administration in any way.
