13 People Charged with Involvent in Nadi Drug Bust Case

The Acting Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr John Rabuku, has sanctioned charges against 13 accused persons in relation to the Nadi drug bust case. The 13 accused persons are charged with unlawful possession of illicit drugs. Of the 13 accused persons, two are also charged with unlawful importation of illicit drugs.

The Acting Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr John Rabuku, has sanctioned charges against 13 accused persons in relation to the Nadi drug bust case.

The 13 accused persons are charged with unlawful possession of illicit drugs. Of the 13 accused persons, two are also charged with unlawful importation of illicit drugs.

It is alleged that the accused persons without lawful authority, facilitated the importation and were found in possession of 4.8 tonnes of methamphetamines, an illicit drug.

Additionally, three of the 13 accused persons are charged with possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime.

It is alleged that the three accused persons were found in possession of cash (local and overseas currency) suspected of being proceeds of crime.

The 13 accused persons will be produced at the Nadi Magistrates’ Court this afternoon (29.1.24).

Count 4 - Justin Steven Masih Ho And Louie Frank Penijamini Logaivau charged with unlawful Possession Of Illicit Drug (On the 23rd day of December, 2023, at Denarau, Nadi, in the Western Division ,without lawful authority, was in possession of 4,800 kilograms (4.8 tonnes) of 2 methamphetamines, an illicit drug.)

Count 5 - Louie Frank Penijamini Logaivau, Issac Lesiyanawai And Ratu Aporosa Davelevu and another charged with unlawful Possession Of Illicit Drug (Between the 28 December, 2023 and the 29 December, 2023 at Nadi, in the Western Division, without lawful authority engaged in dealing for the transfer and transport of 4,800 kilograms (4.8 tonnes) of methamphetamines, an illicit drug).

Count 6 -  Louie Frank Penijamini Logaivau, Ratu Aporosa Davelevu and another charged with Unlawful Possession Of Illicit Drug (On the 29 December, 2023, at Motorex Yard, Nadi back road in the Western Division, without lawful authority was in possession of 4,800 kilograms (4.8 tonnes) of methamphetamines, an illicit drug).

Count 7- Sakiusa Tuva, Iosefo Roqica, Maika Vakanawa Yabakivou, Ratu Osea Navalunilotu Levula, Cathy Tuirabe, Nancy Elia Mateyawa and another charged with unlawful Possession Of Illicit Drug (Between 29 December, 2023 to the 14 of January, 2024, at Nadi in the Western Division, without lawful authority engaged in dealing for the transfer and transport of 4,800 kilograms (4.8 tonnes) of methamphetamines, an illicit drug from Motorex yard to Legalega).

Count 8 -  Jale Aukerea charged with unlawful Possession Of Illicit Drug (Between 13 January 2024 to 20 January, 2024, at Maqalevu, Nadi in the Western Division, without lawful authority engaged in dealing for the transfer and transport of 1,100 kilograms (1.1 tonne) of methamphetamines, an illicit drug).

Count 9 - Sakiusa Tuva And Keanie Lilo Mcpherson charged with unlawful Possession Of Illicit Drug (Between 13 January 2024 to 20 January, 2024, at Nadi, without lawful authority engaged in dealing for the transfer and transport of 1,100 kilograms (1.1 tonne) of methamphetamines, an illicit drug).

Count 10 - Justin Steven Masih Ho charged with possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime (On 23 January 2024 at Taveuni, in the Northern Division possessed cash amounting to FJD21, 691.60, AUD450.00 and USD100.00 suspected of being proceeds of crime).

Count 11- Louie Frank Penijamini Logaivau charged with possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime (On the 23rd day of January 2024 at Taveuni in the Northern Division, possessed cash amounting to FJD112.25 suspected of being proceeds of crime).

Count 12- Jale Aukerea charged with possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime (On the 23 January 2024 at Taveuni, in the Northern Division, possessed cash amounting to FJD2,100.85 suspected of being proceeds of crime).
