More than 15,000 current social welfare recipients who live in cyclone-prone areas will receive an additional $200.
The initiative by the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection is implementing the Anticipatory Cash Programme to provide cash to social welfare recipients before cyclones, reducing their impact on lives and livelihoods.
The ministry and the UN World Food Program (WFP) are implementing a one-time cash top-up on Anticipatory Action transfers to social assistance in cyclone-affected regions.
