222,682 Students Assisted, 2143 Applications Rejected

A total of 2143 applications for the $200 Back-to-School assistance were rejected by the Ministry of Finance.

Giving an update of the assis­tance in Parliament, the Minister for Finance Biman Prasad said they received 224,825 applications from parents and guardians all over Fiji.

Out of that number, payment was made to 222,682 eligible students amounting to $44.5million.

He said within two weeks of tak­ing office Government recognised that families were struggling and going through a tough time.
