240-Plus Turn Up For Free Check-Up
More than 240 Fijians turned up at the Albert Park Pavilion foyer on Friday from 10am to 4pm to take advantage of the free medical screening.

More than 240 Fijians turned up at the Albert Park Pavilion foyer on Friday from 10am to 4pm to take advantage of the free medical screening.
The free medical screening was in partnership with the Indian Naval Ship INS Satpura, Sai Prema Foundation, and the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces.
Kasalia Lotawa, 58, of Nabua was one of them.

“I heard on the radio about the free medical screening and I wanted to be checked. I have not been feeling well and I have been losing weight and vomit when I eat,” Ms Lotawa said.
“I am glad that I came here because I was seen by the doctor from India and he was helpful and listened to all the symptoms I have been suffering.”
Vinod Lal, 59, of Newtown said he hoped that such free medical screening would be done frequently.
“When I was informed about the free medical clinic I wanted to come and get checked. I am glad that I came to take advantage of such an opportunity.”
Indian naval personnel, Abhiraj Raj, said he was happy to be in Fiji.
“This is the first time I am in Fiji and even though it is for a short time I am enjoying it. It is encouraging to see a lot of people turning up today,” he said.
“We did not know what to expect but when we saw the number of people we were happy.”
INS Satpura arrived in Fiji on Thursday and left on Saturday.
