$24,999, 500 Given Out For Accident Claims

The total compensation paid for motor vehicle, employment and school accidents this year is $24,990,500.
This was confirmed by the Accident Compensation Commission Fiji (ACCF) chief executive officer Parvez Akbar yesterday.
“The total number of applications this year for motor vehicle, employment and school accidents is 741,” Mr Akbar said.

“For motor vehicle accidents we received 325 applications, 385 for employment accidents applications and 31 applications for school accidents.”
Mr Akbar said: “Last year we received 318 applications for motor vehicles, 702 applications for employment accidents and 75 for school accidents."
“The total application from 2018 till date is 1,639.
“There were 195 applications where no entitlement to compensation arose.”
