Dr Maharaj said medical staff served 100 patients on a daily basis and about 200 on a busy day

The hospital is working with 60 per cent of doctors, there are three vacant posts and one doctor is on maternity leave, for public health nurses it is working with 67 per cent while the team leader and nurse practitioner post are still vacant.

For clinical nurses the hospital is sitting at 43.3 per cent and has 13 out of 30 positions filled for nurses, but it is blessed to have 20 intern nurses and there are enough midwives.

The most recent resignation was the Subdivisional Health Inspector this month. Mr Prasad thanked the medical staff at the Tavua Subdivisional Hospital for their service despite the recent resignations.
