289 Households Can Now Easily Access Clean Drinking Water

The tripartite project model collaboration between the Rabi Council of Leaders, the donors and the communities of Tabwewa will now solve many health and sanitation issues.

More than 1000 people of 289 households from Tabwewa Village in Rabi Island will no longer have to walk, paddle or swim over a kilometre for their daily water needs.

This is after the launching of the Motawa Water Security project last week.

Rabi Council of Leaders acting executive director, Tokanuka Kareo, thanked the Unitarian Universalistic Service Committee (USSC) that is collaborating with the Banaban Women Organisation (Te Mwenga - the home) to provide $50,000 to mitigate community issues on Rabi. Many resulting from the direct impacts of climate change.
