Police seized 294 green plants believed to be marijuana in their drug raid in the Northern division last week.

Divisional Police Commander (DPC) North, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Kemueli Baledrokadroka said the raid was part of Operation Yavirau.

He said the seizure was made at a farm in Koroivonu village in Cakaudrove.

Investigation is underway with unknown suspects on the run. Koroivonu Village has been a hotspot for illicit drug finds after Police uprooted more than 27000 marijuana plants from five farms two years ago.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Operations, Livai Driu said snap checks and raids were conducted based on information and tips.

ACP Driu commended the assistance of members of the public which led to arrests and drug seizures.
