35-year-old woman charged in alleged $90,000 workplace theft

A former accounts officer has been charged with allegedly stealing more than $90,000 from her employer over a five-year period.

The Criminal Investigations Department's Major Fraud Unit charged the 35-year-old woman with one count of theft following its investigation.

Police allege that between 2018 and 2023, the accused, without lawful authority, dishonestly appropriated more than $90,000 from her employer.

She is expected to appear in the Suva Magistrates Court today.
