40 Fiji Laws To Be Reviewed

The Coalition Government has identified more than 40 laws for review under its 2022-2023 Legislative Pro­gramme.

The Coalition Government has identified more than 40 laws for review under its 2022-2023 Legislative Pro­gramme.

This is in addition to the regula­tion of nightclub opening hours, regulation of aquaculture, re­view of Fiji’s national defence and national security and reviv­ing the Law Reform Commission.

Outlining the programme in Parliament on Monday, Attorney-General Siromi Turaga said Government was determined to review and repeal laws that sup­pressed basic human rights, me­dia freedom, freedom of expres­sion, freedom of association and individual and group rights.
