41 Year Old Man Found Guilty of Rape

A 41-year-old man who was charged with rape has been found guilty by the High Court in Suva.
He is charged with four counts of rape.
The complainant in the matter was nine-years-old at the time of the offence. The incident had occurred between December 1, 2017 and July 13, 2018 in Suva.

Justice Morais said the prosecution had proved the case beyond reasonable doubt and found the man guilty for all four counts of rape.
State counsel had sought for time until Friday to file sentencing submissions.
The sentencing hearing will be heard on February 1 (today).
