A Fiji-based charity group is concerned with the high number of alleged sexual assault cases reported to them in just two months. Medical Services Pacific (MSP) has revealed it had received 43 calls in January and February alone.
MSP provides a range of development services for vulnerable communities in the Asia and Pacific region to ensure women and adolescents have access to quality and professional health services, particularly reproductive health and maternal and child health services.
Its country director, Ashna Shaleen, said: "We used to see 43 in the fifth or sixth month in a year, but when we see this in the first two months, it is a huge jump."
