5 More Months To Complete Bridge

It will now take five more months to complete a bridge along Queen Elizabeth Drive according to the Fiji Roads Authority.
Acting chief executive officer Kamal Prasad said the bridge would be completed in April 2022.
“This will allow us to monitor the settlement data thoroughly before installing the approach road,” he said.

In April this year, FRA said the bridge would be completed by the end of the year.
FRA had also given another year for the completion of the Queen Elizabeth Drive Road project which is at stage two.
Under this project, the authority will also make provision for a bicycle lane, pedestrian crossings, bus bay and bus shelter, street lighting, and improvised safety features in the upgrade works.
There will be three roundabouts under the project to ease traffic movement along Queen Elizabeth Drive and connecting roads.
FRA and Suva City Council will be working in collaboration on the Queen Elizabeth Drive project.
The council will be responsible for the beautification works along the road which includes trees, gardens, and benches.
From next week, Foster Road along Walu Bay will also get an upgrade.
The current state of the road is less than desirable.
While FRA works on improving the road, the Suva City Council has been tasked with the beautification project.
