Fifty passengers were injured this morning when a staff service bus allegedly veered off a bridge and overturned into a swamp in Denarau, Nadi.

The accident occurred at approximately 7:50am as the bus was en route to a hotel in the Denarau area.

According to police, emergency services responded swiftly, with 43 of the injured rushed to Zens Medical Hospital in Nadi Town, while seven others were taken to Nadi Hospital for treatment.

Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
